Stone Eyes

We sit in little
stone temples covered by leaves
Watching the lotus

Between the ripples
If only for a moment
Look to the bottom

Clearly we can see
The arrangement of the stones
Before the exhale

We hear the forest
Rain drops trickle off the leaves
Listen to the birds

Hidden in the moss
Our stone eyes observing life
In eternal peace

Horizon

Straight lines and numbers
to swirling clouds of orange and pink
Shifting in and out of focus
Visions of what I think

Constantly are swaying
like a boat adrift at sea
The winds are always changing
Direction-less? or free?
I wish to become a skilled sailor
To navigate the shifting tides
I also want a relaxing trip
Sit back, enjoy the ride
A ship can't drift forever
without washing into shore
However there is the risk
of sinking to the ocean floor
A follow a straight line
Just before the setting sun
My compass points the way
The adventure has begun
