The Butterfly's Wing

Your heart knows a lie
When your mind's being sly
You know you can run
But you can't ever hide.
One day you'll find yourself thinking Something absurd
Your ears will long for a whispering word And your fingers will ache to touch their skin
And lustful frustration will start building within
And you'll wish for a moment to be in their embrace
But you'll catch yourself and you'll try to erase
A memory that taunts you like snow in the spring
You'll try and get rid of the butterfly's wing you'll blink away hearts that appear in your eyes
and brush away clouds from a sidewalk of sky
but after all this no matter how hard you try,
your heart always knows what your mind will deny
