cradle me with nostalgic warmth
And though I have been gone awhile
they know me as if I were their child
They've seen me laugh
they've seen me cry
They know the things only walls can hide
Though time elapsed and my bed is gone
this empty room still lights at dawn
The pictures hung with loving care
have changed but the walls are never bare
How grateful to have grown up here
So many memories linger, endear
like ghosts of children at play
the stillness of a sunlit bouquet
It seems that only days have past
because each time that I come home
They welcome me back
The best part about this place
no matter where I go it is not replaced
Patiently waiting
I am the prodigal child
They set me free with a smile
They love me like the babe they know
My home sweet home
Mon beau château
